Greetings Early Childhood Educators
Hello and thanks for logging onto TeachingTwins.com. You have joined others interested in twins and their development during early childhood. Together we are a formidable group coming together as the twin population continues to rise along with the increasing number of children attending preschool. This requires consideration of preschool program practices that optimize experiences for twins.
My career in professional preparation has emphasized higher standards of preparation and recognition of teachers. I continue to value developmental elements of early childhood and honor partnerships with parents. This website offers an opportunity to share knowledge acquired in my continued quest to gather research-based information about twins in preschool. My goal is to offer a meaningful perspective by melding twin-specific information with accepted early childhood practices. I do this with passion and insight for both topics. I know early childhood education because I have been an educator in this field since 1967. My interest was ignited with the birth of my daughters in 1977 and fueled with the birth of my grandsons in 2007.
The website was launched in September 2008. It will evolve with the goal to address the unique needs of twins in preschool. You will find information that acknowledges twinship positively and affords twins early childhood experiences that meet their unique needs.
I invite you to review the information. Sections of the webstie are still under development with hopes to expand opportunities to gather and share opinions and experiences. My goal is to move toward establishing a professional voice acknowledging twinship and twins in preschool. I request that you respect the following notation regarding copyright.
